Mt. Lhakpa Ri (Xang Dong Feng) mountaineering expedition gives you an impeccable mountain climbing experience amidst the richly varied landscape. Lhakpa Ri Peak towering over Tibet mountain range at an elevation of 7,045 meters, divides the upper East Rongbuk glacier and upper Kharta glacier. It lies in proximity to mighty Mt Everest boasting mesmerizing sights of Nyonno Ri range in eastern Tibet, the north faces of Chomolonzo, Makalu and Pethangtse, Shartse, Kangshung (east) face of Everest, east face of Lhotse, the north east ridge of Everest, the North Col, Changtse, Cho Oyu and Shishapangma as stunning backdrops of this expedition. Lakpa Ri ascent up this mountain is regarded as the easiest 7000 plus peak ascent. You make the ascent via the Everest Advance Base Camp.

Our Lhakpa Ri mountaineering expedition start from Kathmandu to Lhasa flight with a leisurely stay in Lhasa having some days city sightseeing around, visit the legendary Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, Norbulingka, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Market, Drepung Monastery etc. The journey continues further along Friendship Highway, with an adventure-packed leisurely 4WD drive via Lhasa- Shigatse- Xegar, Rongbuk and North Col Everest Chinese Base Camp. En route, you encounter monasteries, several 5000 and a bit over meter high mountain passes, nomadic settlements, pristine hamlets and nomadic herdsmen. Throughout this tour, the magnificent backdrop of the mighty Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Shisapangma and many other numerous peaks surround you.

The ascent follows a shallow, snow-filled depression on the southwest flank, ascending low-angled snow for 600m, which steeples at mid-height to around 30-35°. After gaining the crest of the ridge close to the Lhakpa La, we turn south and follow the snow ridge to the summit. After finishing expedition we will drive to back to Friendship Bridge at Kodari and continue drive to back to Kathmandu.

Day 04: Fly to Lhasa (3660) and transfer to Hotel.

Day 07: Free in Lhasa (3660m.)
Day 08: Drive Lhasa – Gyantse (3950m.)
Day 09: Drive to Shigatse (3900m.)
Day 10: Sightseeing & drive to Shegar (4050m.)
Day 11: Drive Shegar - Rongbuk (5000m.)
Day 12: At Everest Base Camp (5200m.)
Day 13: Trek to Camp 1 (5460m.)
Day 14: Trek to Interim Camp (5760m.)
Day 15: Rest day at Interim Camp (5760m.)
Day 16: Trek to Camp 2 (5970m.)
Day 17: Trek to Camp 3 (6400m.)
Day 18: Rest day at Camp 3
Day 19: At Camp 3
Day 20: Climb Lhakpa Ri (7045m.), return to ABC

Day 24: Drive Zhangmu - Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 25: Kathmandu free.
Day 26: Last minute, transfer to airport for onward journey.

Summit Bonus for climbing Sherpa must pay by Climber: Per Sherpa-USD 500 for over 8000m, USD 1000 USD for up to Summit.

Cultural Treks & Expedition offers personal equipment rentals for climber, who have limited cargo allowance with their airfare or, do not wish to purchase expensive expedition grade gear but rent it instead. Climber purchasing Base Camp Services only may choose to hire or, purchase high camp equipment. Please let us know in advance prior to your arrival so that we can meet your needs. The quoted cost are for the duration of the expedition and we provide original North Face, Marmot or, Ozark company brand tent only.
